CAD/CAM Club

Target Group

  • Year 7 and 8

Specifics

  • Wednesdays 3.05pm to 4.05pm
  • DT7 or DT9 with Mrs Clark
  • Starts 1st November 2023

Content

  • 2D CAD drawing – learning how to use 2D Design to produce designs that can be laser cut from a variety of materials.
  • 3D Solid modelling using CAD – learning how to use a variety of 3D CAD packages to design solid three-dimensional prototypes that can be 3D printed.
  • Laser cutting – learning how to setup and laser cut a range of materials.
  • 3D printing – experiencing 3D printing close-up.

Requirements

  • Punctuality and commitment to attend every week.
  • An interest in Technology and the use of computers for designing and making prototypes.

Miscellaneous

  • Pupils will have to opportunity to try out a range of small design and make projects using many aspects of CAD/CAM.
  • The club will be limited to 10 people to allow everyone to have a chance of using equipment usually reserved for GCSE and A Level students.
