“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
-Martin Luther King Jr –
The Religious Studies vision at Darrick Wood School provides its students with a framework for understanding the diverse society they live in. Our curriculum develops students’ knowledge, understanding and appreciation of our society through beliefs. Through the curriculum in Religious Studies, we aim to encourage enthusiasm for and in religion which students can continue out of school and where students will have a respect for other people’s beliefs. The subject seeks to contribute to the spiritual, moral, social, cultural and intellectual development of students by helping them to learn ABOUT religion and to learn from religion.
Parents/carers who wish to withdraw their child from Religious Education should put their request in writing to the Head Teacher.
