PE & Dance Technician and sports coach

We are looking for a new member of staff to join our ambitious and dedicated PE and Dance departments. Candidates will have a strong ethos and mindset for driving up standards whilst providing high quality opportunities for students to participate and be competitive in various sports and activities. Candidates will have a strong proactive and professional approach to their work and demonstrate a flexible nature to their day-to-day duties. Candidates will demonstrate a professional approach to their coaching by regularly reflecting on students’ progress and be willing to take part in professional development activities.

Candidates will have a kind, caring and empathetic disposition and demonstrate enthusiasm to work with children that may have SEND and/or Physical Disability needs. It is desirable to have a background with transferable skills that will enable them to support pupils within the secondary curriculum. This is an exciting time to be in the Department as we are increasing our extra-curricular provision. We are looking for a committed candidate who is willing to put in the time to improving the skill set of our already successful young sports people. It will be essential to work as part of a large team and have a flexible and adaptable approach to support the variety of needs within the department.


Darrick Wood is an oversubscribed and successful 11-18 ten form entry mixed comprehensive academy, housed in modern buildings on an attractive site. The School consistently achieves excellent results and was judged to be ‘good’ in all areas in its OFSTED inspection in January 2019. The School was awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark in 2015 and again in 2018 and 2021. The School provides excellent opportunities for career development and a full support programme for all new staff.

Contract: 8.45am – 4.30pm term time only 33.75 hours 5 days 38 weeks

Salary: Scale 4 point 6 £27438 pa pro rata £21548 actual pa
