  • Pupils studying Resistant Materials on Rotation 1 will study either Food and Nutrition or Textiles for Rotations 2 and 3
  • Pupils studying Resistant Materials on Rotation 2 will have studied either Food and Nutrition or Textiles for Rotation 1 and will study either Food and Nutrition or Textiles for Rotation 3
  • Pupils studying Resistant Materials on Rotation 2 will have studied Food and Nutrition or Textiles for Rotations 1 and 2

  • This project is a ‘Focused Practical Task’ using tools and equipment from Year 7 and introducing additional tools and equipment to develop skills further using wood as the main material
  • Pupils will recap H&S in the workshop and will be introduced to several new pieces of equipment
  • Pupils will be able to communicate their understanding of tools and processes through written work that develops use of explanation rather than description
  • Assessment is holistic and ongoing throughout the design, make, and evaluation work with a final summative assessment of the product at the end
  • This project is a ‘Focused Practical Task’ using metal as the main material and developing metal work skills
  • Pupils will be introduced to tools specifically for working with metal
