Charitable Work

At Darrick Wood, we are proud of our fundraising record. The Student Leadership Council plays an active role in fundraising and considering charitable causes to promote. This is all part of encouraging ownership and developing responsibility, two of the pillars of our Vision for Learning.

There are charities which we support on a regular basis and others which are supported in response to particular circumstances. We are always looking for new and exciting opportunities to support charitable causes so please contact the School Office and our Charity Coordinator will be in touch.

Charitable causes we have supported recently include Macmillan, Breast Cancer Now, the Poppy Appeal, Children in Need, Save the Children, Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal, Sports Relief, RNLI and the Chordoma Foundation.

Darrick Wood also regularly collects donations for our local Foodbank and our most recent Christmas foodbank collection has been documented by one of our talented Year 11 students in an online news article (https://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/news/23161209.collecting-christmas-bromley-borough-food-bank/).

Students and staff have raised over £6000 for charities so far this year. Thank you to all who have been involved in this fantastic achievement. The money raised for the Chordoma Foundation was the result of donations for the non-uniform day. This is possibly the most ever raised for by a non-uniform day.
