  • To build on the formal elements of drawing
  • Ability to discuss and analyse the work of other artists who look at sweets
  • To understand the importance of designing their own sweet brand
  • Students will explore the importance of branding and how symbolism can be used to attract target audience and portray aspects of their identity
  • To look at different types of typography and look at how the typography links to the sweet packaging
  • Developing 3-dimensional design skills by creating a 3-dimensional sweet
  • Evaluating and reflecting
  • To understand about one and two-point perspective
  • To build on their observational drawing skills and use a wide range of media
  • To develop their artist analysis skills when looking a different artists who look at architecture
  • Students create a mixed media, relief artwork inspired by the work of Paul Catherall and Edward Bawden, developing their printing skills
  • To understand what a photomontage is and create a surreal cityscape photomontage
  • Evaluating and reflecting
  • This is a project that helps the students understand how a GCSE project is created
  • Researching the art of other graphic design artists
  • Exploring different drawing techniques. Recalling knowledge from Year 8 to further develop typography designs
  • Using photomontage to explore a range of design ideas
  • Using the work of different artists to influence their own work
  • To develop their skills in creating composition ideas for their final piece
  • To build up their skills in combining imagery with typography to create a graphic design for a music artwork, film poster, computer game or book cover
