Autumn Term (Rotation 1) Spring Term (Rotation 2) Summer Term (Rotation 3)
  • Pupils studying Textiles on Rotation 1 will study either Food and Nutrition or Resistant Materials for Rotations 2 and 3
  • Pupils studying Textiles on Rotation 2 will have studied either Food and Nutrition or Resistant Materials for Rotation 1 and will study either Food and Nutrition or Resistant Materials for Rotation 3
  • Pupils studying Textiles on Rotation 2 will have studied Food and Nutrition or Resistant Materials for Rotations 1 and 2
  • Understand the different tools and equipment that are used in the Textiles environment
  • Pupils will study what natural and synthetic fibres are and their origins. They will learn how fabrics are constructed and make examples of woven, knitted and non-woven fabrics
  • Introducing context, design brief and specification of a project. The doorstop project uses skills in research, communicating and developing design ideas. Applique, embroidery and sewing machine techniques are introduced. Paper modelling geometry, measuring skills are used also keywords consolidated in evaluations
