“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted “
– Bill Bryson –
At Darrick Wood School, we believe that travel and tourism education is an essential part of developing well-rounded, curious and culturally aware individuals who can contribute positively to society.
Our vision for travel and tourism education is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the industry, its impact on society, the economy and the environment, and the ways in which it can be sustainably managed for future generations. We want our students to become critical thinkers, confident communicators and responsible global citizens who understand the importance of respecting different cultures and traditions.
Through a range of practical and theoretical learning experiences, we will encourage our students to explore the world around them and to develop an appreciation for the diverse people, places and cultures that make up our planet. We will work closely with industry experts and organisations to provide students with meaningful and relevant learning experiences that prepare them for further study or employment within the travel and tourism industry.
Overall, our vision for travel and tourism education is to empower our students to become passionate, ethical and socially responsible leaders in the global travel and tourism community.
